It can be done, but.... 140-160 1974

It can be done, but it's not a job for the faint or heart. As much as people like to say an ohc motor is no good, They do make good useable power and are a more modern engine with less maintenence. However to make great power with one you need to port the heck out of the head (doable) change the intake and exhaust (expensive and some things you have to make on your own). Otherwise turbo is the way to go. The other thing about the 140 is that the engine compartment looks huge untill you start to try to put anything other than a B20 in there. EVERYTHING is in the way. Brake booster, idler arm, frame rail, oil pan and crossmember. It can be done and may be a good basis for ultimate power. If a little more that stock is what your after the B20 is the best way to go. Here are a few pictures of my friends 142 with a B23 and Electrimotive TecIII.
