Pedal Box Conversion 140-160

I recently noticed that in around 73 volvo stopped putting those huge ugly gas pedals in that pivot on two ball joints off the floor pan. Since my driver side floor pans usually are pretty cruddy these balls tend to rip off. Such is the case on my 68 145, I'm down to just one so the gas pedal likes to slip left and right and comes right off the throttle linkage.. needless to say this is kind of annoying.

Now to the point.. has anyone converted their car to the later style gas pedal? And even better does anyone have one of these lying around? I know that there are two types, ones for the mechanical linkage and ones with the cable throttle linkage.. are they essentially the same at the pedal? Can I just swap the gas pedal at the box(for lack of a better word)?

Thanks

Andrew
