Another Carb Question.... 140-160

Thanks Again!
I never make it to 6,000 rpm's. My car runs out of breath at 4,500. I've had it up to 5,000, but it's really raucous by then.

The suspension and brakes are fully rebuilt, body and interior are good, It is probably time for a motor rebuild with a vpd street performance motor, (150 or so hp). ...If I can find the $$$.
When I bought the car it supposedly had a new (53,000 mile when I bought it) direct from Volvo short block in it. I don't know what cam is in it but it sure doesn't like going over 4500, I'm doing about 70-75 mph by then. It is noisy highway cruising. I oput an OD in it this past summer. I do remeber being able to rev my '68 1800 to 6,000 when I was in college and would sure like to get my 142 usable as a comfortable daily driver. well, comfortable in running anyway, my suspension and tires are a bit stiff on these crappy New York roads anyway.
Thanks again!
