92 vs 97 alternator shaft length? 900 1992

I'm swapping a porous block 92 engine with one from a 97. I had assumed that the accessory brackets would be designed to move the alt, ps pump, and a/c compressor forward to allow for the wider timing belt. After putting the 92 alternator on the 97, it looks as if the 97 requires a longer shaft. Is that the case or am I missing something.

I would like to find out before I install the engine so that if I have to swap the ps pump and compressor I can do it now rather than after fitting them up and discovering that they are wrong.

Thanks for your experience.
