No Electric Power 200 1993

I drove my car home from work last night parked in my driveway and 30 minutes later when I went to start it the car was completely dead, no dome lights, brake lights, electronic locks etc.
Left the car as is and took the other vehicle out for the evening. When I returned later last night about 4 hours later, I opened the door of the car, dome light worked, brake lights and the car started without any hint of a problem except my radio now indicates "code" on it as I need to reset the radio due to the power loss.
Could this be as simple as a battery or is it something more ominous in the electrical system that is going on?
Any help on this would be appreciated...
