Silly remote starter question 140-160 1973

Hi, George.

Big one and the spade terminal, check.

Lots of fun here on tune-up day. Valve adjustment went swimmingly. Then, it took about five tries to set the points right. Much cursing, threats to buy a Pertronix ignition, etc.

(Am I missing an easy way to check the dwell? I fiddle with the gap, then reassemble everything and start the car. There must be an easier way.)

Static timed it to 12 BTDC before using the light and it still ran like garbage. Then, I realized #4 plug wire was shot and I was running on three cylinders.

Sheesh.

I'll try to find a new plug set in town tomorrow. Then time it right and find out whether the readjusted valves are an epiphany. Several were a little looser than spec.

Hope all is well in beautiful Bartlesville.

Steve M.
