Silly remote starter question 140-160 1973

When I was adjusting points by the dwell angle, I would use the remote starter.
Have just a little bit of tension on the point set locking screw and adjust the dwell while turning the engine over with the remote starter. Don't forget to tighten the screw after adjustment!

It may sound complicated, but it is a snap and works well. You'll have to adjust the timing after just like with any point adjustment.

I went with the Pertronix on my two B20s and have been very satisfied over 70,000 miles or so. The Pertronix is much more forgiving of distributor bushing wear than points.
