Split window 1953 444 on Ebay 444-544

Very odd. That car was up on ebay for about a day a couple of weeks ago.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4592175276&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

It had a starting bid of $1500, and within a few hours had already been bid up to $2000. Then the auction got yanked. i asked the seller why, and he said he had sold it locally for $2200. I didn't really have the heart to tell him what it probably would have gone for if he had let the auction go to completion, he probably thinks he got $200 over what an eBay auction would have fetched.

Looks a lot better now that it is hauled out of the carport and had the dust rinsed off. Quite a find, I'd expect a sky-high price on this. I'd probably be tossing wheelbarrow's full of cash at it too if I hadn't just bought a 240 Turbo wagon.

But this really look perhaps a bit too nice to get hot rodded by me, it really should be kept original and taken to shows.

PS - Looks like they did some dodgy, quickie fixes to get it running. Look at the new wiring and the new coil stuck in the hole where the original went...
