Radio amplifier and central locking 700 1989

I am trying to undo the damage by the PO on my 1989 745T. An aftermarket radio was installad but the wires were spliced into the harness. Luckily the connector end is still there, but I think the amp was bypassed (?). Where is it located and how can I tell if it's connected? Should I just use my new, hi-powered head unit instead?
I noticed my central locking stopped working a few days ago and when I checked the fuse, it was good. I saw the same fuse controls the hazard lights and sure enough, they dont work either! Turn signals are OK except the left clicks very fast, like a bulb is out, but the bulbs are fine! Can these be related??!!
