volvo 240 '84 runs rough with idle breathing if at all after sitting 200

My volvo 240 '64 sat fro about 5 months, and when I started it again. Thick black smoke, and carbon deposits blew out the exhaust, and continiue to do so, even after driving it some. The idle breaths a little bit, and when returning to idle from higher RPM the car almost stalls, and catches itself, or does stall. Also there is signifigant power loss. Spark plugs are black w/ carbon, but the deposits are light. I figure incomplete combustion due to - poor air input, timing, injectors? any other ideas.

thanks a bunch
