1987 740 Turbo oil pump 700

I am rebuilding a B230FT engine and had the block decked to remove imperfections caused by head gasket demise. When I got the block back from the machine shop, they gave me the cam gear which drives the oil pump and two small rings that will fit over the shaft of the cam gear . The machinist does not know where these rings fit. I could not find any reference to them in the Haynes manual in the oil pump section. Does anyone know what they are?

Gary
