things to look out for with the 70's cis b23....been sitting 200 1978

If you can get it running you're all set. I'd recommend draining the fuel then change the fuel filter before trying to start it, and if you're really ambitious pull the sender unit and look into the tank for any signs of loose rust laying around. That'll really muck up k-jet. The metering plate may be gummed up, if so get that gunk cleaned out. And watch for leaks at the fuel pump, as you mentioned (though if it leaks don't panic, let it sit for a few days and the fuel you've flowed through it may help soften up and swell the dried-up seal again - a little piece of wisdom I picked up here a while back). I once had a k-jet 142 that started leaking fuel at the injectors, turned out the injector fittings had actually rusted through. If it starts, and runs, and doesn't leak, then don't worry.
