CIS B23??? Non-U.S. Car? 200 1978

My son once converted a B23 to K-jet by putting injectors in the head (same basic casting as B21, 4 holes needed) and fitting the B21 manifold. Much cheaper than IPD's "big bore" kit and worked real well.*

I recently got an '80 240 that hadn't run in 10 years. The last 3 years (maybe more) were outside in central NY. It started and ran pretty good on what was in the tank after I replaced the snapped timing belt and made sure everything was free to turn.

Some kind of tank cleaning is a good idea though. I pumped it dry and "refreshed" the tank pump, filter sock, and feed hose -- then put fresh gas in. A few days later it went nuts when the control plunger stuck (partway up) and let fuel get to the injectors when just running the pumps with a jumper (not even cranking).

It was a chore to get the FD out and plunger freed up, but it runs nice now.

*That engine is still stashed in my garage, in case anyone in Central NY is interested
