1966 4dr Amazon 120-130

Hi and welcome!

When buying an Amazon, the biggest thing to look for is rust. The car you're looking at is now 39 years old, and although they have a very good (and well deserved) reputation for resisting rust, they can still rot badly. My everyday car is an unrestored '67 220 and only recently has it reached the stage where the body has needed structural welding due to rust - there's plenty of cosmetic rot though in the arches and door bottoms that has been there for years.

Check the floor, chassis rails, sills, the entire front bulkhead & windscreen surround (especialy inside, behind the dashboard - you'll need a torch), front inner wings & the box section that the front wings bolt to. Rear arches and door bottoms / frames are other trouble spots. However, front wings, sills, inner wing & rear arch repair sections, and various other panels are available.

Mechanically, they are very tough given proper maintenance. Bumpers are expensive to replace if buying new ones. Interiors are hardwearing but there will probably be tears on the sides of the front seat base squabs and also some split stitching.
