tail light lens kit for 1988 240 Sedan 200 1988

Hi--

My 1988 240 sedan was attacked by a rogue cart at the grocery store, and a single tail light lens (driver's side bottom left) was smashed. I couldn't believe it when my husband told me we'd have to replace the entire taillight assembly.

I just found a single lens replacement kit on ebay, for this very lens. My husband says he's never heard of such a thing (and he was raised and trained by a 240 restoration fanatic, my father-in-law). All the other kits we've found online ARE full taillight assembly replacement kits.

So--is this single-lens replacement kit for real? What kind of problems could we expect to run into if we attempt to replace the single lens? Please share wisdom.
