Horn Issues 900

Hello out there. My '93 945 is having intermittent horn issues. When I bought the car last year the horn did not work. I put two new horns in the car to no avail because when I tested the wires there was power. So then I pulled the steering wheel apart to make sure everything else was working. Anyways, I got the horn to work again. I think that the contact brush was not always making contact. Lately with all the rain, humidity and cooler temps the horn doesn't always work. Only after hitting the steering wheel several times it works again.
Seeing as the horn works most of the time this horn "flakyness" is starting to bother me, especially since murphy's law will most likely come into play. I would appreciate any ideas on how to solve my problem without replacing the steering wheel. This car came equiped with a driverside airbag to make things that little bit more intersting. Thanks in advance!
