Performance B18 120-130

I assume you mean $1500 for performance over and above the cost of the basic rebuild. I also assume that your carbs and distributor are in perfect shape already.

Overboring to B20 specs is a really, really bad idea -- an anti-performance thing. You end up with a disastrous mismatch between the new bore and the old combustion chambers. If you want B20 displacement, rebuild a B20. The extra ~200cc is not that big a deal; a B18 can be made to go really well if it's done right.

With a $1500 budget for upgrades, I'd put $1000 into head porting. That's going to make the biggest difference.

I'd take $250 and have a nice free-flowing exhaust system made up. If your motor is new enough to have the dual-downpipe exhaust manifold, stick with that. It's much better than the cheaper headers that are on the market right now. If yours has the single downpipe setup, try to get a used dual pipe rig.

Take the remaining $250 and get the Street Performance cam kit, including the double springs. With moe budget, you can go further, but with what you have to work with, these things will get you the most bang for the buck.
