Tail Light Lense Woes 200

I finally got my tail light circuit board from Volvo World to do a much needed replacement for the drivers side. I did this recently with the passenger side and had much success. Aside from the usual woes of trying to get the damn sockets to fit right, I noticed another problem I didn't encounter while doing the passenger side. I have the rear fog option, and it works in my 244, but the lense on the driver's side DOESN'T have the socket area punched out so I can even put a socket inside it. No wonder the fog doesn't work on that side. I can see an outline in the plastic where the socket area is SUPPOSED to be, but looks like now I'm forced to custom make that.

Has anyone had a similar problem? I'm not sure what to do this with. A Dremel?

Any help/thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.
