Do you realize what blessings these cars really are?

I drove my '90 245 for almost 15 years and 304,000 miles before I "retired" it. The engine and tranny seemed like they could have gone at least another 100K but the "peripherals" (sensors, A/C, blower and misc. electrical germlins) were really starting to give it up. I loved that car so much that I always said if I could find another one (preferably a '93)in good shape with decent miles on it, I'd buy it. Last spring I found one with under 100K, adult owned with only a few minor issues. It was being sold by their son when his father passed away. It's a great car and I hope I get another 10 years and 200K out of it. By that time I'll be XX years of age, and will likely be battling with my kids trying taking the keys away from their elderly "menace on the road" Dad!

My neighbors all have $45K+ SUV's. Some of them have owned two or three in the time I have had my 245's. I figure they gotta be shelling out at least
$300-500/month for these vehicles. One guy was kind of looking down his nose at my Volvo ($$/money thing) until I showed him the orginal sticker listing the '93, with options at just under $24K. The previous owner still had it and gave it to me with the other paper work. That put an end to the "airs"!

Good luck with your 900 series. My wife '91 is just over 275K miles and it has only been in the last year or so that it has started having anything more than "minor" issues.......
