I strongly recommend that you leave the panhard rod on the car! The rear sway bar isn't designed for the lateral forces that are taken up by the panhard rod.

The swaybar itself would likely not suffer. But the endlink assemblies, which connect the moment arms to the floor, are NOT an adequate replacement for the panhard rod.

It's true that the panhard rod ends do move in an arc, but this movement is minimal. If you want to ease up the feel of the rear end yet retain good handling, I'd bet you'll be happier by removing the rear sway bar.
