Engine dies at Idle, only gets high RPM if I pump gas pedal rapidly 200

About two weeks ago, my car lost power while driving. It felt like fuel stopped getting to the engine. I gunned her, she hesitated then BAM! rpms shot up. I did this a couple of times and the problem went away. This happened once or twice later that week but then seemed to go away. I just assumed something clogged an injector then I blew it out.

Last night (in the pouring rain) the same symptoms occurred but much worse. I tried to gun her but she didnt respond as before and just died. I restarted her and then rapidly pumped the gas pedal. This resulted in getting the higer rpms but when I stopped pumping the gas, she stalled.

There doesnt seem to be any oil burning, so I am hope it is a fuel delivery or ECU issue vs blow engine.

Of note, I zero miled her about 4K ago and when doing the fuel filter I put the filter in backwards! I wanted to fix this mistake but didnt as the fuel pipe is so short I would have to replace it costing another 140 bucks.

From the forums I have read, I think it could be water in the gas, bad ECU or perhaps clogged injectors.

Any insight would be gratefully recieved.
