Trans swap 120-130 1967

"I would think it would be much easier to look for an Amazon that's already an automatic- they seem to pop up quite a lot."

True, and are usually cheaper than standard tranny Amazons in similar condition.

I've heard it said more than once that the 122 and BW35 combo was not so
well matched, contrary to the typically balanced Volvo engineering style,
and even when the tranny is in top shape.

It may have been discussed before, or you may have already considere it,
but, if not, it might be worth asking; are their many 122 owners out there
that are perfectly happy with a BW35, and would recommend it for the conversion
to automatic in a 122?
