Home Made Fuel Line Extension for line entering just before fuel filter?

Hi Bricks,

My first attempt at changing my fuel filter resulted in a big mistake. I put the filter in backwards. Now I dont have enough of the incoming fuel pipe to go back at it and fix my mistake as I had to cut some off the first time. A new fuel line from volvo costs 150 bucks!

Since all I need is another inch or so, I thought I would add a coupler and some regular fuel line of the same diameter and some hose clamps. Does anyone think this will cause issues?

Thanks
