I've tried, but the contacts inside the switch wear and although I tried getting by with just cleaning it, the contacts themselves actually wear away.

I picked one up off e-Bay. Lucky find I guess, I don't know where you can get another.

When mine failed, it was activating the starter while in the off position. Glad the car wasn't parked in gear at the time!
