Cruse Control - Control Unit Interchangeability 900 1994

I suspect that the Control Unit is bad on my 1994 940. The car was bought about a month ago in a fast trip about 400 miles away (it's a real creampuff!) and the Volvo dealer resoldered something in the Control Unit to get the Cruise working because they didn't have a Control Unit. Yesterday it quit again so I assume the Control Unit went bad again. I have an 87, and 90 (all 740s) for parts and am wondering if any of these have a Control Unit which will work in the 940? Thanks.
