My Kind of Problems.... 200 1988

Hi everyone !
I hail from Malaysia.
This is my first post since I joined here.

I drive a 1988 Volvo 240 GL Sedan
The engine is coded B230K, with a Solex Cisac Carburettors

First of all, to make things clear, I've recently went to a mechanic, to change my crack carburettor "spacer", which is rectangular shaped and black.
Then, he open up the carburettor to find out that the carburettor gasket is to be replace, and the "o" ring is missing.
I monitored him doing the work all the time. After all the job is done, I was keen to get back home, only to be in despair, the car stalled several time and had a difficult time to stay on and idle.

He made several tweaks on the mixture & idle I believe, & several test run. This process goes a few time. One problem that is noticed is when the car is doing a u-turn, right hand side, the car stalls. It is a manual transmission, so the sequence goes like dropping into 4th, into 3rd, steer into right, and into 2nd with the clutch pedal fully depressed and accelerator pedal untouched.

The car stalls each time on the same u-turn !

The mech check everything, from the spark-plugs, that is changed to the standard Volvo spec, to sanding down build-ups at the ingnition coil cable connector, to removing the engine breather filter (said the mechanic) temporarily, and more mixture adjusting.

I was able to make it home fortunately, but the next day, when I started the car, the idle was very erratic, and strong petrol smell comes out from the exhaust. I was devastated.

Can anybody help me with this problem ? I've had enough of this carburettor...

Note : This problem occur only after the mechanic changed a set of spark plugs, the carburettor "spacer", the carburettor gasket, & refitted the "o" ring.
The car was able to run fine with the broken spacer and the missing "o" ring before. It's unbelievable.

Does anybody know whether I can change my engine fuel system into an Injection System ?, plus,

What is the most powerful redblock engine that can go with a Turbo, but still able to run ordinarily from home to work ? I hope that maybe in the future, I want to make my Volvo as close to the Group A Racing Volvo Turbo, that will be wicked.
