240 Radio Swap? 200 1993

Has anyone here ever swapped their radio from a '91-'93 240 to something from an earlier year? I hate the radio (anti-theft version) that's in my '93. It has far less features than the previous generation that's in my '90: no scan, no separate DNR or tape settings, most of the buttons aren't lighted, and on and on. One of the first things I did was try swapping them, but the plugs are completely different. I even tried following the harness back figuring that it would connect to a plug like the one on my '90 somewhere under there, but no luck there either. My '90 was set up with the separate amp, and graphic equalizer....real nice. This crappy radio isn't even provisioned for the equalizer. Thanks!
