Okay, so my wife insists on selling her 2001 Honda Accord DX (base model, power nothing in the cabin) and getting a Volvo. As she will get about nine or ten grand for it, I advised her to get a 1994 940 Turbo and save the remaining money for any repairs. (We do our own work as often as possible.)
What can you folks add? She likes the S70/850 quite a bit, but I told her to stick with a RWD red block if she gets an older car. I already own a few of the special B230F tools. I told her to avoid turbo, but she insisted, so 1994 940 Turbo is what I ended up suggesting. She makes fairly regular 8 to 10 hour drives one way, only to return the next day. Will a 1994 be worth the money if this sort of heavy usage is dumped on it?
I drive a 1990 740 base and am pretty comfortable working on it. What will change under the hood if she gets the 940? Are there any years to avoid? When were those Nivomats used? I do not want them unless she gets that IPD conversion kit at the time of purchase and we put it on right away.
HELP!
