Steering/brakes problem 140-160 1972

Having some trouble with my '72 164E. I've had to replce both front calipers in the last month, and also did the hoses at that time. Since the last caliper was done, the steering has felt noticably looser and the car is pulling to the left. I got alignment done; that's not it. The brakes themselves feel strong. I can't visually see anything, and we can't get it into the shop until January...wondering if this rings a bell with anyone--I don't want to be making something worse by continuing to drive it. It almost feels like the rear left tire is blown (it's not). There are no shakes or shimmies and the pulling to the left is constant. The only hypothesis I've got is that the rear calipers are getting ready to die and may be creating a drag of some kind. Any thoughts?
