Buying advice please 940/960 wagons 900

With baby #1 on the way, we'll be trading in one of our 240s ('88 with about 250K) for a wagon, hopefully a 940 with low mileage, as I am familiar with the B230F and dearly love that engine. I know this question has probably been asked 100 times on this board, but this new search engine just has never worked for me.

Aside from the usual issues of general condition and maintenance history, what are the important purchasing considerations regarding the 900 wagons? Are there good years/bad years? And is it true that the 6 cylinder engine models are not as durable and reliable as the B230F?

Many thanks for any advice. Looks like I'm going to have to bookmark two brickboard forums now!
