Can anybody help with a 200 1990

What a PIA these things are! Okay, now that I got that off my chest I can get on with this odyssey!!

This seemed to start with the bulb failure light going off. Found burnt-out taillight bulb, replaced, thought I solved problem. Sorry JW, not that easy...

BTW - Cruise control went inop about the same time.

Replaced other tailight bulb. BF sensor still lit up and no cruise either.

Now third (high) brake light bulb goes on and stays on ALL the time. Still no cruise. Pull this bulb, clean housing and replace with new bulb. No change.

Go to local boneyard and get used BF Sensor. Switch with old one. Dreaded BF Sensor light still on. Makes a nice pair of dashboard lights with my check engine light (O2 sensor) Well, it's Christmas after all...

However, cruise is now working. Strange, isn't it? I do know the cruise and the BF Sensor are connected, I read about this in the 700/900 FAQ. So apparently the old one was indeed bad.

My question is what do I do next? Should I take apart all three brake light housings clean thoroughly, tighten connections and then test again? Anything else?

Thanks All,

Jim
