Steering/brakes problem 140-160 1972

Volvo was born out of SKF, no wonder Volvos (and SKF bearings) are over-engineered!

The 164 has vented disks, and often are fitted to a 144 which has solid disks. The 164 was advertised in the 70's as having over 700 brake horse power, that is horse power in the brakes...

I've also worked on my brakes this wheekend. Finally I've found Bendix Standard pads, which contain asbestos. Silence is golden... at the front wheels. Now to replace those rear pads which are driving me crazy! And amazing how dirty the brake fluid can get after probably 20 years of no change. It was black as dirty engine oil, and a lot of times the bleeding nipple got blocked.
