Dashboard Light Problem - HELP! 1990 245DL 200

Hello fellow brick owners:

I have a problem with my dashboard lights that I can't seem to figure out.

Symtoms:

No dash lights at all when headlights are on. If I turn the dimmer switch on, the turn signal indicators both turn on and my large tach doesn't work. Turn dimmer switch off and the tach works, turn signal indicators are off but no lights at all in dash area or center console. The turn signal indicators dim with the dash dimmer.

Turn signals work but when I have either signal indicator activated, the other one blinks very dimly.

I have removed my small clock assembly and still the same results. Odd thing is that when I touch the + and ground wire together on the small clock wiring (from large tach), the turn signal indicators light up.

All of my system warning lights work fine.

I do have some accessories wired to the system but they are wired off a circuit dedictated for the stereo system and bypasses all other electonics.

Any help would be gladly appreciated.
