M46 OD rebuild questions 200

OK all you manual OD experts, I pulled my non-functional Type J OD yesterday and began disassy., this is what I found.

The piston o-rings were shot, no mystery there, that is why it would not engage.

BUT, the bars that span the pistons and provide the surface for the pistons to push against, are bent in the middle where the pistons make contact. They have approx. 1/8" of a bulge in the middle. Do they need to be replaced or is this normal?
