center support bearing pressed on by shop 700 1985

I had machine shop take off and press on new bearing into new center support.

When I took it off the car the old bearing and support spun effortlessly around the half shaft.

The new one when installed didn't spin freely at all.

The press guy claimed that the dust caps where catching on the rubber of new support and after a little while will wear away some of it and it will then spin freely as the old one.

Is this guy BS ing me ?

He also mentioned old bearing was still good.....i guess the whirr I was hearing was the rubber from the old support turning in the hanger.

getting driveline vibration as well.....I painted lines on the shaft, flex disc, differential etc. I was a tooth off first time but i ran it while it was still up on blocks. I lined it up real good the second time but and didn't notice any vibration while up on blocks. I test drove it and I'm still getting vibration.
