Amazon oddities-front bench seat 120-130

I was flipping through some old magazines (Road and Track; circa 1958), and came across a review of the "New" 1959 Volvo 122. Somewhere buried in the text was a reference to an optional front bench seat. Has anyone out there had actual, physical contact with such a seat? I have seen them in sales literature, but never in the cold light of day.
I don't absolutely HAVE to get one, my highschool dating days are long past. But, having one in my '68 Amazon wagon would be great for long distance driving. Think of all the junk (maps, CDs, food , and so on) that could pile up there as the miles spin by!
