Machine shop liability

You don't polish out grooves on a cylinder head and expect it to seal,
ESPECIALLY not on a diesel.
You should not have accepted the head from them in the first place if they
didn't do what you told them to. That's why you keep the old 164 around, so
you'll have something to drive while ^&%%#$@ happens.
Now that you have accepted the head you may be stuck with it.
But you might find a lawyer who will write them a letter.

Can you get a head from a salvage? Maybe a cast iron one that won't be
so likely to warp?
