55amp alternator, or? 200 1976

1976 245. I have changed this rare alternator ⏘, 77 only] to a later model alt a couple of years ago [junk yard], They mount the same but the plug end needed to be modified. now this one is bad. Is the 55amp. alt. problematic? Does it have enough amps. for a decent head unit? Thanks in advance for your helpJoe
