Motor mount/oil filter interference 200 1988

Hello and Happy 2006 to all! I recently picked up for $700 an 88 245 with a good body (for western NY) and all accesories in working order. Does have 284k on the clock but the running gear looks to be well taken care of and it starts drives and stops like it should. I was in the middle of doing an oil change this morning when I noticed that the engine mount rubber bushing (?) was preventing me from getting the oil filter off. The oil filter can was hard against this bushing. I do recall seeing some posts about this but could not find any more info. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? I also have another 88 244 that has enough clearance around the oil filter that I can easily get my hands around it. Is the fixing of this problem a big dollar shop job or can some one with average mechanical aptitude and a fair set of tools be able to fix it in his barn. As always, thanks for all you guys do this site does rock! DK
