I've read about the notorious upper hose outlet weakness in these radiators -- well, mine readily broke off yesterday withn only a little pressure on it from above (possibly already weakening). Appears as if a radiator replacement is on the horizon. I suppose it's better that it did it in my garage than on the interstate at 11 P.M., though.......
I've already read past posts on the subject, but I'm trolling for current advice possibly not reflected in old posts:
* Recommendations on OEM unit vs. aftermarket unit, and your experiences;
* Most economical sources on each (particularly dealers who'll deal to out-of-towners !!!!!);
* Anything tricky or unusual to anticipate in advance of the swap;
* Any other pertinent advice that comes to mind.
Now ---- before you start answering, let me also put in a shameless plug for this board. It's saved me more money than I'd care to count (with 3 Volvos on-hand at this time, and a 4th just a fond memory). I've been tardy in sending my check to support the board, but I'm doing so this weekend, and I hope every one of you will, too --- no matter how small, it will all help, I'm sure.
Everybody have a happy I-roll New Year !
