245 tailgate compatibility 200

I'm starting to see some rust on my 1982 245 rear hatch. I've seen some in the boneyard from later models, and have been wondering several things: 1) What later years might fit my older car? 2) Are the newer hatches made of different material to resist rust better? 3) Are the internal mechanisms compatible?

On another matter: I've had power windows in other non-Volvos I've owned and hated them as I found them unreliable and thought them unnecessarily complicated. I've noticed that many later Volvo 240s in the boneyard have power windows. Whenever I start looking for another 240, I'd like to be able to avoid power windows if I can. Did power windows become standard in later models?

Thanks in advance for your help!
