Repair of exhaust system 900

My Volvo gave me a great present for the New Year. A rusty V-shaped pipe from the exhaust system broke off in two places. This pipe connects the expansion right before the final exhaust in the back with everything else in the front.

My question is if there is a way to repair that or I need to replace the whole system (all the pipes and stuff running all the way underneath the car). Any ideas how much that could come up to total? I am in NC, USA.

And the last thing is could I just buy it from the soter and try to install it myself? Is it difficult/tricky to do?
Thanks.
