bonehead 200 1988

I'm trying to fix the speedometer on my PV544. The B18 and manual transmission were swapped out for a B20 and automatic several years ago, and naturally the ends of the speedometer cable housing that fits the transmission doesn't fit the speedo head.

I have a copy of the PO's shop bill for having the speedo cable replaced with the 'proper' one. Rigght!

Anyway, I bought a 120 gauge cluster and found that the cable housing fits. Now the problam is that I managed to mix the parts of the two speedometers, and there are subtle differences.

I suppose it would have helped if I had remembered to put the steel magnetic waveguide ring in before I buttned everything up!
This screw-up wioll only take me a few hours to fix, but somehow tiny parts are disappearing as I work.

Tomorrow, tomorrow...

Steve
