intermittent speedo/odo 200 1989

My speedo and odo have been working off and on for some time. Seems like it takes about 10-15 minutes of driving for it to start working usually, and then it usually craps out after awhile too. I swapped in a new used instrument cluster and it does the exact same thing. I checked the wiring at the sender on the differential and it seems fine. Any suggestions? Thanks
