Interchangebility of alternators 200 1993

I'm haveing trouble with wife's 93 245. alternator is not charging up to snuff. It only puts out 13 Volts at 200 rpm and sometimes the idiot light comes on. I've redone the voltage regulator (maybe I used the wrong solder??) with new brushes, installed it and still trouble.
Have a chance to pick up another alternator. Does the 260 (B27) and the 240 (B230) use the same alternator?? Or at least ones which can interchange?
Anybody know?
