A paen to Dave Shannon, a mensch with a wrench, and the 12 mm ratcheting box head 200 1984

Changed my transmission mount last night and for a change of pace today, I installed new motor mounts.

At Northern Tool picking up odds and ends today I recalled Dave's mention of the 12mm on his incredibly handy how-to page. Snapped one up on impulse using the end of the in-laws' gift card. It is one of the ones with a wobble joint

Honest to god, I don't think I could have done the motor mount job without his pictorial and the tool. It was brilliant and I used it on all the upper mounts. I don't know how I would have reached some of those bolts otherwise. Now I clearly have to buy a whole wrench set.

Anybody out there about to tackle this job, go here first: http://www.homestead.com/volvo2/240mount.html

Thanks a bundle, Dave. I'm dedicating this beer I'm drinking to you.

Now, onto the ball joints, the brake job, the bushings, the struts, the loping idle, the rusty rocker panels and the fading paint.
