Rainy day driving under Chinese water torture (leaky sun roof). 2-forum post. S90-V90 1997

Also posting in the 900 forum.

My 1997 965 has the glass sun and moon roof. Also pops up for just a bit of ventilation. Leaks like a sieve in moderate or heavy rain.

No, athe drains haven't been checked. I can see the water coming in.

I first checked into having a dealer repair. New non-leaky-sealed glass roof part is OVER $800. Go quickly to plan B.

Plan B: Put in some sort of black marine sealant. Squish it hard to get in under the seal around the glass. Work from the outside. Lift the seal with a sharp instrument of some kind. Hope for a week of no rain - to get the thing realy dry and to have time for it to cure.

Before embarking on that project, I would like to know if anyone has tried something similar, or has a better approach.

All responses are appreciated.

Bob
