Speedo Sprung Today 120-130

'66 stock 122 two door

The red speedo indicator ribbon started oscillating from 0 to 120 when first starting out. It smoothed out after a 1/4 mile. After another stop the oscillations ran the indicator so far right that the poor thing appeared to jump off of the guide system. Now there is nothing but a solid red line across the speedometer with only the top half of the ribbon showing.

Should I start looking for a new cluster or is it easy enough to just replace the speedometer? All other functions are working fine on the existing cluster.
