Car suddenly runs like crap! 900 1993

I came home from work and shut it off. (1993 945 Turbo, 215k miles) Got the wife and kids in the car, tried to start it and it would not catch. Fine. We took her S70. Once I got back I got it started and it would idle fine but once you press on the gas, it stumbles and sputters and hiccups.
I checked the cap and rotor, made sure there where no visable holes in any of the intake tubing. I'm thinking it's a fuel pump problem. I can hear it pressurize if I turn the key. But it sounds funny to me, almost a higher pitch noise than before. But then again I may be searching as I am anxious to figure out the problem.
Any thoughts?
