Where the heck does the cd changer cable end up???? 900 1993

I read for a few hours all the CD changer posts and then pulled my SC-810 out this AM to look at the back. There is an 8 pin male end cable tied (factory tie) to the antenna lead in cable. The CD socket on the radio looks to match this cable so I assume this cable was supposed to lead to a CD changer. So after taking all the plastic trim out of the trunk and looking in every possible location back there; I couldn't find the other end of it. Of course the antenna cable is found coming out above the driver side rear fender (Inner), but no sign of the CD cable. They both were heading back in that direction from the radio cavity, but only one made it to the trunk. How can I get my hands on the end of that cable? I plan to install an Alpine CD changer when I find it. This is a 1993 960 sedan.
